Instructor/Assistant Professor for Music Production & Technology
The Bethel University Music Department is pleased to announce a non-tenure stream, full-time position for an Assistant Professor of Music Production and Technology. The Music Industry Studies Program offers degrees in Music Business and Music Production & Technology. The ideal candidate will either have a terminal degree in music or a Master’s degree in music business, music, or related field with professional experience in the area of recording and music production/technology. Previous college teaching experience preferred, but not required. Additional duties may be assigned based upon the candidate’s other areas of interest and expertise. Applicant review will begin immediately and the position will start on August 1, 2014 depending upon candidate availability.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of the most current software, recording formats, recording theories and best practices used within the music industry. Courses will include: Recording Techniques I & II, Midi, Mixing, Mastering, Live Sound, Concert & Stage Lighting as well as other duties as assigned. A commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring is expected in addition to the ability to advise, instruct, motivate, and evaluate students. Duties will also include managing the usage of the recording studio.
