The APS Archive of Teaching Resources is a digital library of peer-reviewed science teaching resources that is free and open to educators worldwide. As of January 2009, the Archive contained more than 2,200 peer-reviewed teaching resources including audiovisual materials, lesson plans, teaching journal articles, and scientific content materials. Academic Search Premier (EbscoHost) is a multi-disciplinary database that provides full text for more than 4,500 journals, including full text for more than 3,700 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. 
BigChalk eLibrary serves as a starting point for student inquiry. eLibrary features a powerful user interface designed to make research easy. Students find the answers they need from more than 2,500 fulltext magazines, newspapers, reference books, and transcripts - plus thousands of pictures, maps, web links, and audio/video files.
Britannica Online includes the Encyclopaedia Britannica as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, the Britannica Student Encyclopaedia, and the Britannica Book of the Year. It also provides an Internet directory to more than 300,000 sites selected by Britannica editors.  This is also filed under Encyclopaedia Britannica.
Ebrary is a comprehensive subscription database of e-books and other authoritative materials that includes more than 37,000 titles in 16 key subject areas. Students will need to download the ebrary reader onto their computer in order to read the available items. There is a download tab on the main page of ebrary that you may click to download.
Educational Media Reviews Online Database contains more than 3500 reviews of educational videos, DVDs and CD-ROMs, written by librarians and teaching faculty from the United States and Canada. ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) is the world's most widely used index to educational-related literature. Established in 1966, ERIC is supported by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement and is administered by the U.S. National Library of Education (NLE). ERIC is the largest education database in the world—containing over one million records of journal articles, research reports, curriculum and teaching guides, conference papers, and books.

To access this database, you must change the database listed from ProQuest Educational Journals. To do this, click on the link on the left side of the page (right under the tabs). This link is called "Databases Selected." On the next screen select ERIC. When the next screen pops up you can continue your search.

Gale Virtual Reference Library (InfoTrac) is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see may vary if you use the database at different libraries (your school, your public library, or your office).
