Traditional Undergraduate Scholarships

ACADEMIC THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship varies in amounts and is awarded by the Director of Theatre. The student must declare a Theatre major. Auditions are required. The scholarship only combines with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Scholarship, and Academic Honor Scholarships. ACADEMIC HONOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Academic honor scholarships are received as a new incoming student. Incoming freshmen must have an 18/860 ACT/SAT AND at least a 2.5 CUM High School GPA to be considered by these scholarships.

Bethel Honor Scholarship - Amounts up to $1000 per year. Freshman requirements: 20-22 ACT, 940-1050 SAT or 3.0 to 3.24 GPA. Transfer requirements: Must have been full time at previous school and have 2.75 CUM GPA. Renewal criteria: 2.75 CUM GPA at end of each spring term.

Deans Honor Scholarship – Amounts up to $2000 per year. Freshman requirements: 23-24 ACT, 1060-1120 SAT or 3.25 to 3.49 GPA. Transfer Requirements: Must have been full time at previous school and have a 3.2 CUM GPA. Renewal criteria: 3.0 CUM GPA at end of each spring term.

Trustee Honor Scholarship – Amounts up to $4000 per year. Freshman requirements: 25-26 ACT, 1130-1200 SAT or 3.5 to 3.74 GPA. Transfer requirements: Must have been full time at previous school and have 3.3 CUM GPA. Renewal criteria: 3.3 CUM GPA at end of each spring term.

Presidential Honor Scholarship – Amounts up to $6000 per year. Freshman requirements: 27 and above ACT, 1210 and above SAT or 3.75 and above GPA. Transfer requirements: Must have been full time at previous school and have 3.4 CUM GPA. Renewal criteria: 3.6 CUM GPA at end of each spring term.

ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Athletic scholarships are available in all sports offered at Bethel University. The scholarship amount is determined by the coach. The scholarship only combines with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Scholarship, and Academic Honor Scholarships.

BETHEL SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP This community service scholarship is for new 13-14 students. The amount is determined by the Financial Aid Director. The student must complete three service projects each term. The scholarship only combines with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Scholarship, and Academic Honor Scholarships.
BETHEL UNIVERSITY GRANT This scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Financial Aid Director. It only combines with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Scholarship, and Academic Honor Scholarships. This scholarship is being phased out and therefore beginning with 2013-14 no new students will be awarded this grant.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP (C.E.S.) This service scholarship varies in amount and is awarded by the program director. The scholarship only combines with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Scholarship, and Academic Honor Scholarships. COLEGIO AMERICANO FRIENDSHIP SCHOLARSHIP One full tuition scholarship is awarded each year to a graduate of the Colegio Americano, a Cumberland Presbyterian school in Cali, Colombia, South America. Requirements: 3.0 or above cumulative GPA and a 21/980 or above on ACT/SAT. Students must provide scores on the TOEFL. Renewal criteria: 2.5 CUM GPA at the end of each spring term. CONTIGUOUS COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is awarded to students whose permanent address per the FAFSA is in one of the following counties: Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Gibson, Henderson, Henry, Madison, or Weakley. Amounts vary up to $1000.
CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN GRANT This scholarship is awarded to active members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A completed application must be provided documenting membership for at least one year. The award amount is up to $4000.
CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN MINISTERIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is for Cumberland Presbyterian students entering the ministry. The completed application must be approved by the Presbytery and Bethel’s Chaplain. Award amounts vary up to full tuition and fees.

DIVISION OF MUSIC INSTRUMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP

DIVISION OF MUSIC VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP

DOLLAR GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP

5% tuition discount to a Dollar General employee or employee’s immediate family

HENDRIX SCHOLARSHIP

Bethel’s most prestigious scholarship competition held each February for new incoming freshmen. The winner earns full tuition, double room, and board. The runner-up earns full tuition. Renewal criteria: 3.6 CUM GPA at the end of each spring term.

HONORS PROGRAM

Program for academically gifted students under the direction of Dr. Dan Dalrymple. Interested students should submit an application to the program director. Incoming Freshman Requirements: 3.25 CUM High School GPA and a minimum English and Reading ACT score of 24. Renewal requirements: 3.5 CUM GPA and a 3.0 GPA in all Honors courses. Scholarships are up to $10,000 and only combine with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant and Contiguous County. Two international scholarships will be given per year which covers up to full tuition, double room and board.

MULTI-MEDIA SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship varies in amounts and is awarded by the Public Relations Office. It only combines with Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Scholarship, and Academic Honor Scholarships. Contact Jennifer Glass for more information (glassj@bethelu.edu or 731-352-4259).

PHI THETA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is for members of the All Tennessee Academic Team. Freshmen will receive up to one-half tuition scholarship. Transfer students will receive up to $1000.

This scholarship varies in amounts and is awarded by the Director of Renaissance. Auditions are required.
