By requesting an interlibrary loan (ILL), borrowers can obtain many books and articles from journals not held in the Bethel University Library. Books, journal articles, master’s thesis, government documents, and technical reports are some of the types of materials that can be obtained for your use. ILL services are offered to Bethel University faculty, staff, and students.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN INSTRUCTIONS

Before placing an ILL request, you MUST FIRST...

Check the Library Catalog and on-line databases (Electronic Resources) to make sure that the Bethel University Library does not already own a copy of what you are requesting. ILL staff will cancel a request if they can determine that you can obtain the material yourself from the Library catalog and stacks or online databases.

Can’t find what you are looking for?

Complete the ILL Request Form (Click the purple button ►)
- You MUST use the ILL Request Form for your request to be processed.
- Provide as much information as possible.

The Process:

Overdue items or fines put your request on HOLD. The ILL request will not be processed until the items are returned or the fines are paid.
You will be contacted via e-mail when the items have come in or if further information is needed.
Arrival time ranges from 2 days to 2 weeks, depending on where the item is shipped from.

Your Responsibilities:

You usually have 2 weeks to use the materials (books, microfiche, etc.) Copies of journal articles are yours to keep.
You must return the items to the Front Desk. DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE DROP BOX.
To RENEW items(s), please contact the ILL Librarian - Do not wait until the last minute.
If you do not return the item(s) borrowed by the due date, ALL LIBRARY PRIVILEGES WILL BE SUSPENDED until the item(s) are returned.
If the items borrowed are still outstanding 7 days after the due date, then SECURITY will be notified.

Hours:

Monday - Thursday:	8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday:	8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday:	10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
