Inter-Library Loan

By requesting an interlibrary loan (ILL), borrowers can obtain many books and articles from journals not held in the Burroughs Learning Center Library Catalog. Books, journal articles, master’s thesis, government documents, and technical reports are just some of the types of materials that can be obtained for you. ILL services are offered to Bethel University faculty, staff, and students. 

INTERLIBRARY LOAN INSTRUCTIONS

Before placing an ILL request, you should first...

Check the Library Catalog and on-line databases (Electronic Resources) to make sure that Burroughs Learning Center does not already own a copy of what you are requesting. ILL staff will cancel a request if they determine that you can obtain the material yourself from the Library catalog or online databases.   If you are having trouble finding what you are looking for, check out our Tutorials to aid in your search.

Can’t find what you are looking for?

Complete the ILL Request Form (Click the purple button ►)   Provide as much information as possible.

The Process:

• If you have any overdue items or fines with the Library, your requst will not be processed until the items are returned or the fines are paid.
• You will be contacted via e-mail when the items have come in or if further information is needed.
• Items' arrival range from 2 days to 2 weeks, depending on where the item is shipped.

Your Responsibilities:

• If you request books, you have 2 weeks to return the books back to The Library@Burroughs Learning Center.
• You must return the items to the Front Desk. DO NOT LEAVE BOOKS IN THE DROP BOX.
• If you wish to renew items, please contact askalibrarian@bethelu.edu
• If you do not return the items borrowed by the due date, then all ILL privileges will be suspended.
• If the items borrowed are still outstanding 7 days after the due date, then security will be notified and all Library privileges will be suspended.

Hours:

Monday - Thursday:	8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Friday:	8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday:	10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
