Christmas Mission

"...I delivered the poor who cried out, the fatherless and the one who had no helper... I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy... I was a father to the poor...I broke the fangs of the wicked and plucked the victim from his teeth." Job 29: 12-17

Smithville, TN

In December 2013, the Missions Program began a new partnership with Lighthouse Christian Camp in Smithville, TN. Mission teams helped with the camp’s various Christmas events including Christmas parties where campers heard the Christmas story and had the opportunity to “buy” gifts for their families using camp play money. Through this and other events, the children learn that it is truly “more blessed to give than to receive.”

Lighthouse Christian Camp is answering God’s call to minister to the orphaned, the forgotten, and the needy “at-risk” children in 15 counties within Middle Tennessee. Each year, more than 800 children go to camp FOR FREE to enjoy God's creation and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The camp’s other ministries include a pastors’ retreat home, the “Sing for Joy” widows’ homes, and boys and girls ranch homes.

In addition to the annual Christmas Mission, work teams will be organized throughout the year to help with various projects around the camp. Volunteers are also needed for weekend retreats and summer camp sessions.
