Dr. Seuss’s “The Cat in the Hat” made an appearance at Bethel on Thursday, Feb. 26, when the school hosted the Northwest Tennessee Reading Council Meeting on campus. “The Cat in the Hat,” portrayed by Bethel student Melanie White, distributed “Cat in the Hat” bookmarks to promote literacy in all Tennessee K-12 schools. Here, White poses with other Bethel students Jade White (left) and Josephine Wright (right) during the meeting, which was just prior to the 12th Annual Read Across America event on March 2. Membership in the Northwest Tennessee Reading Council is open to anyone who wishes to help promote literacy in K-12 schools.
