Bethel University’s Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) organization will conduct a 30-Hour Famine beginning Saturday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. and ending Sunday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.
“Come be a part of this life changing event and help those who are hungry,” said Candace Salcido, the event’s organizer. “During the famine we will be fasting, praying, participating in community outreaches, and sharing the love of God to those in need.”
Salcido says that CCC will be having a food/clothes drive for local charities as well as collecting money to support World Vision’s effort to feed those in need around the globe.
“This will all be happening this week leading up to the famine,” Salcido said. “We have drop boxes in buildings on campus for clothing and food items, and anyone who wants to donate can call, and we’ll be glad to come and pick up items if we can.”
The famine will be in the Marrs-Stockton Student Center on the Bethel campus.
Salcido says anyone with questions can call 615-305-6735.
World Vision is Chrisian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
