Country Music Artist Kevin Weldon will perform this Friday evening at a kick off meeting and meal for Bethel Universitys Big Bass Blast Open Bass Tournament.

A Bethel University Big Bass Blast open fishing tournament is this Saturday, April 10 at Paris Landing State Park with blast-off at safe-light, according to Bethel Bass Fishing Coach Garry Mason.
“We have a first prize of $1,000 guaranteed, and there will be a $200 Big Bass prize every hour from 8 a.m. until 1,” he said.
Mason says the tournament is to benefit the Bethel University bass fishing team, which is in its first year as a collegiate sport.
“There is a meeting and meal Friday night, April 9, at 5 p.m. at Bethel’s Wildcat Stadium,” he said. “All anglers who plan to fish in the Saturday tournament must attend this. It will be a great evening. We have entertainment provided by country music artist Kevin Weldon.”
The tournament is sponsored in part by the Henry County Tennessee River Resort Act Board.
“We thank our sponsors who are helping make this event happen,” said Mason.
Other sponsors include Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, All Pro Rods, Bass Pro Shops, Garry Mason’s Legends of the Outdoors, TTI-Blakemore Fishing Group, Strike King Lure Company, Viscious Fishing, The Original Fish Formula, Frogg Toggs Outerwear, and Charlie Brewer’s Slider Company.
Mason says boats will be flighted with the first flight checking back in at 3 p.m.
Entry fee is $100 per boat to fish on the open side and $50 per boat to fish on the collegiate side. There is a separate $25 Big Bass entry fee. The entry fee does include the Friday evening meal.
