Bethel University’s Department of Nursing and Division of Human Services hosted a poverty simulation where students were given the opportunity to assume life situations of individuals living at the poverty level. Students were given specific situations and varying amounts of income and had to “make things work” the best they could with the resources they had. Here, students Misty Swan of Camden and Cayla Ham of Munford try to negotiate the best deals at the “grocery store” manned by Tim Lindsey, assistant professor of sociology and human services.
