Bethel Bands to Present Three Concerts

The Bethel University Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Band will present their spring concert on Thursday, April 14at 8 p.m. The concert will feature music influenced by the sights and sounds of Central Asia to music from the American Big Band era. The Percussion Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Joshua D. Smith, and the Jazz Band is under the direction of Mr. Tom Oakley.
     The Bethel University Wind Ensemble will present their spring concert on Monday April 18 at 8 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. Joshua D. Smith, the wind ensemble concert will feature music from Leonard Bernstein, America’s National March, music from the movie “The Incredibles,” and it will finish off with a bombastic rendition of Tchaikovsky’s classic “1812 Overture.” 
     The Bethel University Renaissance Symphonic Band will present their spring concert on Tuesday April 19at 8 p.m. Under the direction of Mr. Tom Oakley and Dr. Joshua D. Smith, the concert will feature music not only from Broadway, but it will also feature a montage of music from The Beatles and from Led Zeppelin. 
     All concerts will be held in the Bethel Performing Arts Center on the corner of Stonewall St. and Church Ave (647 Stonewall, McKenzie TN  38201). Each concert is free and open to the public.
