Division of Music Events Scheduled for this Week

Two Bethel University Division of Music events are scheduled for this week. The Bethel University Singers will perform in concert this Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at the McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
The group will perform a number of pieces including “Make a Joyful Noice!” “The May Night,” “Hotaru Koi,” a Japanese Children’s song, “Dulaman,” “Animal Crackers, Vol. II,” “Viva la Vida,” “Apologize,” “Jai Ho!,” “Cert’nly Lawd,” and “Cindy.”
“This is going to be an exciting concert,” said Dr. Beth Everett, Chair of the Division of Music at Bethel. “We will be singing in a number of languages. There is also a newly formed Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and we’re excited to feature Dr. Keith Herris on the piano along with our accompanist Lisa Powell in one of our pieces.”
A second event will take place on Friday, Oct. 28 at noon, when the Division of Music will host a recital hour in the L. J. Turner Recital Hall (formerly known as the Oasis) in the Marrs-Stockton Building on Bethel’s McKenzie campus.
Both events are free and open to the public.
