Bethel's Mo Dumbuya Sends Match to Overtime

The Bethel University Wildcats were ranked No. 8 in the 2012 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll released Tuesday. It was the first regular-season poll for the 2012 year. Bethel had been ranked No. 11 in the pre-season poll.

The Cats won a thrilling 4-3 double overtime match over Hasting College Sunday to open their year.

Bethel Coach Melvin Belong commented after the win, "It was a hard fought game by both teams. I knew that it would not be an easy game and that Hastings would not want to start their season with a 0-2 record. We started the game slowly but still controlled most of the play and flow of the game. They were awarded a penalty kick, on our mistake, and as a result they scored to take the early lead. That really changed the game and put us on the offensive. Our team really showed character to come from behind twice during the match, and to get the eventual victory in the second overtime. It's a very good win for us because it required us to be focused and beat a quality opponent. We are looking forward to sustaining the momentum of this victory into our next match."

Bethel has added a match to their schedule as they will host Faulkner University Tuesday at 2 p.m.
