Bow Cats Shoot Well in First Competition in School History


Greenfield, Tenn. - The Bethel University Archery Team did well at the Tennessee State Archery Association Championship tournaments over the weekend. It was Bethel's first ever competition. Top shooters from Tennessee and surrounding states gathered at the DCS Field and 3-D range near Greenfield, Tennessee. Bethel Archer, Sam Gregory, won second place overall in the 3-D division of the state competition.


Three colleges were represented Saturday involving collegiate competition. Bethel Archer, Sam Gregory, claimed 1st place with a score of 289. Rachel Schulze from Dyersburg State took 2nd place with a score of 263. Bethel's Dillon McGee, came in 3rd with 261 points.

Bethel University Archers Team members competing during this event were; Ty Wilson, Casey Jones, Dalton Watson, Sam Gregory, Dillon McGee and Jeff Burkhead.

Every team member represented Bethel admirably according to Bethel Head Coach Brenda Valentine.
