Cats Beat Faulkner in Men's Soccer-Move to No. 7 in National Poll

The Bethel Wildcats beat the Faulkner Eagles in a men's soccer match at the Wildcat Soccer Complex Tuesday afternoon running their record to 2-0 on the young season. Two goals and an assist by Vinicuis Kerchner proved to be too much firepower for the Eagles.
The contest was scoreless with just under five minutes left in the first half when Kerchner gave the Cats a 1-0 lead. Bethel took control of the game in the second half on another strike by Kerchner with an assist from Linsworth Daley. Mo Dumbuya wrapped up the game on an assist by Kerrchner seven minutes later and Bethel won going away.
The Cats outshot the Eagle 20-10 and had an 11-5 advantage on shot -on- goal.
Minutes after the match the Wildcats learned they had moved up one spot in the national polls, moving to No. 7 in the nation.
The Wildcats are back in action this weekend as they travel to Chicago to meet Robert Morris College and Roosevelt University. They return home to face always tough Mid-Continent in an early season conference match Tuesday, September, 18. The contest against the Cougars kicks off at 2 p.m.
