Roller Cats Fall to UNLV in Elite 8




Fort Myers, Fl. –The Bethel University Wildcats advanced to the Elite 8 of the 2013 NCRHA National Roller Hockey Championships at the Skatium in Fort Myers, Florida Friday afternoon with a 2-1 win over the University of Illinois, but a tough first period against UNLV Friday evening proved to be too much to overcome as the Cats fell to the Runnin' Rebels 6-3. The contest was a rematch of the national title game from last year when Bethel won to capture the 2012 championship.

UNLV scored three unanswered goals in the first stanza which proved to be the difference. Both squads scored two goals each in the second stanza. Bethel goals were credited to Cole Sonstelie and Evan Reams. Kekoa Latimore and Sonstelie had an assist each..

Both teams scored one goal each in the final period as Bethel saw their season come to a close with the loss. Andrew Ball scored the lone goal on an assist from Latimore. Bethel finished their season 27-6-2.
