Academic Theatre to Present "On the Verge"
Bethel University Academic Theatre's first ever Studio Production, "On the Verge" by Eric Overmyer, is coming to Bouldin Auditorium April 18 -20 at 7:30 p.m. The Studio series is completely student driven. They are the designers and builders and learn how to mount a play from the ground up. This production will be unique in that the audience will be seated on the stage. Therefore, seats are limited and reserving tickets in advance is highly encouraged. All reserved tickets must be claimed 1/2 hour before show time, or they will be released due to limited seats.
"On the Verge" is directed by Kristin Klonowski (debut directing at Bethel). The cast features Mallory Sellers, Elena Spradlin, Marion Graham, Christian Cook, Spencer Tabor, Michelle Neel, and Ryan McBee. The designers and production team include Jeremy Hurley, Joy Pointe, Cody Allen, Beth Operia, and Asa Dean.
The play starts out in the late Victorian era, and follows the expedition of three women explorers who set out on an expedition into the Terra Incognita. They travel through space and time and end up in the 1950's. This is a very entertaining and thought provoking piece. It promises to be a very unique experience.
Tickets can be reserved by contacting Professor John Klonowski at firstname.lastname@example.org. All Bethel students, faculty, and staff will receive one free ticket each. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the box office on the day of the event.
