First Annual Junior PA Day Held
On Saturday, July 19, 2014, the Bethel Physician Assistant program class of 2016 hosted its 1st annual Junior PA Day. Approximately 90-100 children were in attendance for the event. Upon arrival, each child received their very own stethoscope. The activities included a 911 presentation aimed at teaching children how, when, and why to call 911. Additionally, the children participated in Teddy Bear repair, relay races, listening to hearts and lungs, taking blood pressures, and exploration of a fire truck and ambulance. The grand finale included Air Evac landing in the parking lot. After landing, the children were given the opportunity to sit in the helicopter. Even Doc McStuffins, a popular children’s TV character, made an appearance! Overall, the event was a great success for the children of the community and the Bethel PA program.
