The Bethel Bass Fishing Team will be recognized on ESPN on Saturday, August 27 for winning the Bassmasters College Bracket Series. The BassMasters College Classic Bracket Series was held on Kentucky Lake a few weeks ago. Two Bethel Wildcat anglers participated in the event along with six other anglers. These eight anglers were the very best in the nation and competed for that national championship in which Bethel angler John Garrett won! So set your DVR! -- The events airs twice -- once at 7 a.m. and the other at 9 a.m.
According to Bethel Bass Fishing Head Coach Garry Mason, Garrett, as the winner of the Bracket Series, now stands as the only college bass fisherman in the nation to advance forward to the 2017 Bass Masters Classic. John will be competing with 54 of the top professional anglers from across America for the chance to win the Classic. This is the most sought after prize in professional Bass Fishing in the world.
"We are very proud of John and our Bethel Bass Team for all of their hard work and dedication," said Mason. "They are America's Premier Collegiate Bass Team."
