Bethel University Professor, Dr. Robin Salyers, will be the Commencement Speaker for the school’s fall 2017 graduation scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9. Salyers is also Co-Director for Bethel’s Division of Education.
“Dr. Salyers is one of those stories we love to be able to tell,” said Bethel University President, Dr. Walter Butler. “She did not complete her bachelor’s degree right after high school. Instead, she was working here at Bethel, and she entered our adult degree program. She graduated in 2004 and just kept going. Now she holds a Ph.D. What she has accomplished is truly inspirational.”
Dr. Salyers is a Professor for the Division of Education and Computer Information Systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Northcentral University. Additionally, she holds a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from TUI University and a Master of Arts in Education from Bethel. Her research interests lie in the area of online learning, ranging from design to implementation.
She is the instructor for Instructional Technology, Computer and Modern Technology for Educators, Research Methods, and Web Design.
Dr. Salyers is a member of All Saints Anglican Church and serves on the board of the Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (JACOA). She resides in Jackson with her husband of 35 years, David, and they have two daughters and three grandchildren.
Commencement will begin at 10 a.m. in the Rosemary and Harry Crisp II Arena on Bethel’s main campus in McKenzie. Graduate lineup and guest seating will each begin at 9 a.m.
