Baptist Collegiate Ministry
The BCM is a student-led organization at Bethel University, open to all students, no matter what denomination. The purpose of the BCM is to reach out to the university with the Gospel, encourage spiritual growth among students, and challenge students to live out the mission that God has placed in their heart. The BCM is supported by the Tennessee Baptist Convention, four local Baptist Associations (Beulah, Carroll-Benton, Weakley County, and Western District), and many local churches.
Our events include:
Noonday: Mondays, 12-12:45 PM, in the Student Activities Room in the Vera Low Student Center. We provide a free home-cooked meal provided by a local church, and a short devotion is usually given.
The Door: Thursdays, 6:30-8 PM, Odom Lecture Hall. This is our weekly bible study in which we come together for fellowship, worship, a bible study, and other things such as skits, testimonies, and videos.
Other events include Pray-N-Play Basketball every couple of weeks, Pinterest Parties, Game Nights, Cookouts, Mission Fundraisers, Prayer Walks, Campus Outreach Opportunities, and much more!
At the BCM we also place a strong emphasis on being mission-minded and following what Jesus commanded us in the Great Commission. We strive to engage in missions locally in our community, in our state, across the country, and even throughout the entire world. Every Spring Break we take a trip as a BCM somewhere, and then we encourage our students to become summer missionaries during the summer months.
