Armed Security Officer

Bethel University’s College of Arts and Sciences is seeking candidates to work as an Armed Security Officer on the McKenzie campus.

Applicants must pass a state background check, drug and psychological screening and pass all the requirements for certification as an armed security officer. CPR/AED training are also required and will be offered upon completion of all the above qualifications. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting all these requirements.

This person will be responsible for patrolling, securing, and protecting the campus; be of good moral character, highly organized and possess excellent communication skills. This position requires a good work and attendance history, and the ability to multi-task. Computer literacy for shift and incident reporting are imperative.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a valid TN driver’s license. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Armed security experience and a bachelor’s degree are desired, but not required. The physical demands of this job will involve walking or standing for long periods of time and climbing stairs. Exposure to inclement weather is occasionally experienced.

Position is for the third shift (11pm-7am) but applicant should be flexible to work different shifts and occasional overtime.
