Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Backs)

The Assistant Coach is responsible for aiding the Head Coach in administering a competitive NAIA intercollegiate program. This position supports the development of student-athletes through mentorship, guidance, leadership opportunities, community building, and a commitment to social justice. The Assistant Coach focuses primarily in the areas of planning and directing recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management of the program. This is a professional assistant coaching position, and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the Conference, and the University. The Assistant Coach will have significant night and weekend commitments.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. The coach's primary responsibilities will be instructing the student-athlete, teaching various athletic methods of success, and training student athletes in the proper style. Furthermore, the coach will directly educate the student-athletes on how to best succeed in their chosen athletic endeavor. In short the coach will be expected to instruct student-athletes how to succeed in sport and in life through techniques demonstrated and modeled in practice, as well as in the classroom and in life.
  2. Recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
  3. Monitor study hall.
  4. Maintain equipment and facilities.
  5. Assist in weekly game prep.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and related work experience in coaching football.
