Fitness Center Manager/Strength and Conditioning Coach

The Strength and Conditioning Coach develops and conducts strength and conditioning programs for Bethel athletes. The Coach also provides fitness information and equipment instructions to patrons that utilize the campus Fitness Center and oversees and maintains all equipment and programs for the Fitness Center.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for athletic teams in a manner that reflects research-driven practices.
  • Work in cooperation with the athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
  • Instruct all patrons and employees of the Fitness Center regarding proper use, safety, and maintenance of the equipment. Provide information regarding fitness-related questions.
  • Oversee the operation of all campus strength and conditioning facilities, including budgeting, scheduling sports teams, scheduling/teaching a variety of exercise classes, booking events in the aerobics room and Crisp Arena, maintaining equipment, staffing the Fitness Center during regular business hours of the University, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Conduct annual needs analysis for each sports team in conjunction with the coach and the athletic training staff.
  • Train and manage 5-10 work study students to assist in the Fitness Center.
  • Reinforce and mirror expectations that are contained in the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in fitness related field or equivalent experience in fitness and training.
