Bethel University’s Global Studies program has provided me the opportunities and skills I need to become an active, culturally competent, global citizen, while expanding my horizons through serving and studying abroad.  My love for international service began at age seventeen, as I traveled abroad on a mission trip. Therefore, upon arrival at Bethel University, the Global Studies program was something I sought out immediately. I traveled with the program to Peru during my first BU spring break.  I did not know then that this Alternative Spring Break experience would be the beginning of a long and wonderful journey with Global Studies at BU. Since then, I have traveled to serve and learn in Costa Rica twice and I am serving a second term as a Global Studies Student Ambassador.  Through our programs, one gains not only knowledge about a new part of the world, but one learns new things about themselves as well. Traveling abroad is near and dear to my heart as God has given me a passion for people all over the world, people that He has so beautifully designed. I am excited about the opportunity to serve and help this program expand as it provides opportunities for our learning community to grow spiritually, physically, socially, and intellectually.  If you have questions about our programs / courses, would like to know more about our destinations, or are curious about what it means to become a global citizen, let me know. I would love to talk to you!
