HOCKEY CATS MOVE TO ELIMINATION ROUND

FARGO, ND- The DI Hockey Cats opened up play in the 2018 National Collegiate Roller Hockey Championships being held in Fargo, North Dakota at the Southwest Youth Ice Arena, Wednesday.

The Wildcats beat Grand Valley State 6-1 in their first game of pool play. After a scoreless first period the Cats scored two goals in the second period and four in the third to secure the victory.

Tyler Bolyard led the Cats with three goals. Brandon Kerst had two goals and two assists. Kadin Ricciardi had three assists for Bethel.  Justin Shimizu contributed with a single goal. Jimmy Teed recorded 12 saves in the game. Bethel outshot GVS 33-12.

The Wildcats fell in game two of the day losing to Farmingdale 7-1. Kerst had Bethel's only score of the match. Matt Paccagnan was credited with the assist.

The Wildcats beat West Chester 3-2 in overtime Thursday to wrap up pool play. They begin elimination play Friday facing Western Michigan at 1: 15 p.m. Ricciardi  scored the winning goal in the extra period. It was one of two goals for him on the day. Paccagnan had a goal while Bolyard recorded two assists. Teed was credited with 16 saves.
