Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach/ JV Coach

Reports to: Athletic Director

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: Assist the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in managing the program

Under the general direction of the Athletic Director

Under the direct supervision of the Head Men’s Soccer Coach

Works as needed

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

1. The coach's primary responsibility will be instructing the student-athlete, teaching various athletic methods of success, as well as training them in the proper style. Furthermore, the coach will directly educate the student-athlete on how to best succeed in their chosen athletic endeavor. In short, the coach will be expected to instruct student-athletes how to succeed in sport and in life through techniques demonstrated, modeled, and shown in practice as well as in the classroom and in life

2. . Recruitment of qualified student-athletes

3. Responsible for overseeing the development of Junior Varsity personnel

4. Maintaining equipment and facilities

5. Assist in weekly game prep

6. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Related work experience in coaching soccer

Master’s Degree

5 years of experience as a high school/collegiate coach

Physical Requirements:

Work requires moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on a continuous basis (over 50% of time); or heavy physical exertion (over 50 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% of time).

Environmental Conditions:

Work involves intermittent to occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve some contact with potentially hazardous or harmful elements in providing administrative or support services.
