Bethel University Waiving Standardized Test Requirements for Fall 2020 Admission
McKenzie, Tenn. June 3, 2020 - Bethel University, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is temporarily waiving standardized test requirements—ACT and SAT— for the fall 2020 semester. This suspension of test requirements will apply to the College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate programs only.
The decision comes as the university continues to address challenges students face as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. With widespread testing cancellations, many students are currently unable to access standardized testing, and there is significant uncertainty as to when new test dates may become available.
By waiving the test requirements, this assures equitable access to higher education for more students.
“We want to ensure that there are no unnecessary obstacles that stand in the way of someone enrolling and earning a college degree,” stated Bethel University President Walter Butler. “Making it easier for people to pursue higher education and career goals is a way we can help during this challenging time.”
Students will still need to provide an official high school transcript for admission. During this time, transcripts can be submitted electronically.
In addition, admissions counselors will be hosting campus tours Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. with a limited number of slots available.
