Jason Essary of Bethel University (Tenn.) has been named the 2024-25 Mid-South Conference Above and Beyond – Athletic Trainer of the Year, marking his third time receiving the honor (previously awarded in 2020-21 and 2022-23). Essary expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized his commitment to servant leadership and the evolving demands of college athletics. Bethel Athletic Director Dave McCulley praised Essary's tireless dedication, leadership, and trustworthiness in caring for nearly 700 student-athletes. The award is voted on by head athletic trainers from each MSC institution, excluding self-nominations.
