Emma Christiansen of Murfreesboro, TN is the winner of the first annual Miss Bethel University pageant and will represent the University in the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship Pageant on June 17- 20, 2020 in Jackson, TN.

The Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant is a service-oriented scholarship program seeking to empower young women through education and opportunity. It is one of the top providers of scholarships for young women in Tennessee.

Emma is a 20-year old Bethel University Junior Nursing major. Her parents are Melissa and Kevin Christiansen of Murfreesboro, TN. She attends New Vision Baptist Church. Emma played basketball for 2 years as a guard for the Bethel Wildcats. She has achieved Dean’s List and Honor Roll status. As the winner, Emma Christiansen received a $1,000 Bethel scholarship and gift services from Tennessee providers of $2,000.

The first annual Miss Bethel University contest was held on November 23, 2019 and open to current Bethel students. Eleven contestants competed in the following categories: interview, swimsuit, talent, evening wear, and stage questions.

Prizes were awarded to the winner and two runner-ups. First Runner-Up was Jayne Shaye Bailey, a Sophomore Nursing major from Gleason, TN. She received a $500 Bethel scholarship. The Second Runner-Up was Emma Martin, a Sophomore Business Administration major from McKenzie, TN. She received a $250 Bethel scholarship.
