International Student Affairs
Bethel University’s Office of International Students is here to assist international students with their immigration needs.
An international student is defined as an individual who is not a U.S. citizen or national and is studying temporarily in the country. This status typically requires a non-immigrant visa, such as the F-1 visa for academic study or the M-1 visa for vocational study. International students are generally recognized as non-immigrants who come to the U.S. solely for the purpose of completing their education at SEVPcertified institutions.
In addition, Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a work authorization that allows F-1 international students to gain practical experience directly related to their major. It is an integral part of an established curriculum and must be approved by the student’s Designated School Official (DSO).
Students must obtain CPT for every semester that involves clinical rotations. If a student has questions or concerns about immigration matters or CPT please email the Primary Designated School Official for international program at jentb@bethelu.edu.
