Assistant Professor of Music, Piano

POSITION:

The College of Arts and Sciences at Bethel University seeks a qualified candidate for appointment as Assistant Professor of Music, Piano in the Department of Music. This full-time position will begin August 1, 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will teach curriculum in Class Piano, Applied Piano, serve as the collaborative pianist for the Bethel University Singers, and a secondary teaching area based on departmental needs. Additional coursework will be based on qualifications and may include Music Theory, Aural Skills, Music History, Methods courses, etc. Other responsibilities for this position include academic advising, serving on College and University committees as appropriate, and working cooperatively with colleagues to realize the mission of the university.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Music (piano). Doctorate preferred. Applicants must demonstrate expertise and experience in maintaining a piano studio at the collegiate or equivalent level. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate professional experience teaching courses in class piano and a secondary area.
