MCKENZIE, Tenn. April 27, 2021 - Ten students from Bethel University, led by Dr. Josh Greer, sports management program coordinator and assistant professor, and Mark Walton, assistant professor, will work behind the scenes during the NFL Draft April 29 through May 1 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The group will help manage the NFL Draft Experience Photo Pass, Fan Que and NFL Draft Experience. The NFL Draft Experience and Fan Que invites families and fans of all ages to enjoy a three-day football festival and participate in interactive exhibits and photo ops, immersive games and more. As part of the photo pass, teammates will be assigned to specific areas including the Vince Lombardi trophy, AFC & NFC locker rooms and draft set. Students will see firsthand how a large-scale event is organized and get the opportunity to network within the industry.

“The NFL Draft is a sought-after event, and Bethel will be the only non-local University present,” said Greer.

Students will also get a behind-the-scenes tour of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, a sit-down meeting with the front office staff, and will stay to watch the Cavaliers play the Orlando Magic. Greer added that this gives students an excellent opportunity to learn more about working for a professional team and networking with professionals within the sports industry.

Students attending are Riley Wood, Elijah Wood, Nathan Holliman, Maria Campos, Matthew Ellis, Mark Craven, Jeffery Lee, Myals Adkins, Alexandria Lipsey and Jarred Walker.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Performance, Sports Management equips students with skills and concepts related to management, finance, marketing and law pertaining to the sports industry. Courses give an overview of the business side of a sports organization with the use of the latest trends and technologies. This program trains students who want to become involved in the planning, organizing, managing and budgeting of sports or physical activities.
