Bethel University will remain closed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026
by Bethel University

Winter weather continues to impact our campus, and we want to provide additional clarity and the steps the University is taking to improve conditions as quickly and safely as possible.
Despite ongoing efforts, icy conditions remain across campus due to sustained freezing temperatures. Our Facilities team has been working diligently to clear snow and ice using plowing, salting, and other mitigation methods. Unfortunately, the prolonged cold has limited the effectiveness of these efforts. In addition to our internal work, the University is actively coordinating both internal and external resources to further improve conditions.
In an abundance of caution, Bethel University will remain closed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. All administrative offices will remain closed during this time.
- College of Arts & Sciences – Classes remain canceled. We strongly encourage all students to continue communicating with professors concerning any missed coursework and assignments.
- College of Health Sciences – Students in the Physician Assistant and Nursing programs will receive guidance directly from faculty.
- College of Professional Studies – Online courses will continue as scheduled.
- The Vera Low Cafeteria will continue to operate on its inclement weather schedule, 11:00 am–1:00 pm for lunch and 4:00 pm–5:30 pm for dinner.
Looking ahead, we are hopeful that today’s warmer temperatures and the forecasted rain tomorrow will assist in melting remaining ice and improving overall conditions. Our goal is to reopen the University on Wednesday, pending further assessment. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will communicate an additional update on Tuesday afternoon.
For students on campus and those traveling to campus, your safety is our top priority. Please use extreme caution on sidewalks, parking areas, and roadways that may remain frozen. Conditions vary across the area, so always use personal discretion when traveling.
We remain deeply grateful to our Facilities, Campus Security, Residential Life, and Dining Services teams for their dedication and tireless work. We are incredibly fortunate to have such committed staff supporting our campus community.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility this week as we continue to navigate these conditions together.
