University Financial Aid Funding Coordinator

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: The University Financial Aid Funding Coordinator is responsible for ordering, returning, balancing, posting, and reconciling all State, Federal and University funding for all programs. 

Under the general direction of the University Controller

Under the direct supervision of the Director of University Financial Aid 

The employee is responsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbents are subject to callback as deemed necessary.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain comparison reports for all funding, including Title IV, State, private, and institutional funding, using SQL, Microsoft Excel (Excel), and other computer programs.
  2. Create and maintain packaging worksheets that automate the transfer of data from the Student Management System (CAMS) to Microsoft Excel.
  3. Review package worksheets for Federal Pell Grant and loans accuracy and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  4. Originate/certifies all Federal Pell, Student Loans, Plus Loans, and Teach Grants
  5. Release and post all funding and returns, including Title IV, State, private, and institutional funding.
  6. Perform or assist with various reports using CAMS, SQL, and Excel.
  7. Process daily file imports for Title IV aid, troubleshooting the process as necessary.
  8. Prepare loan letter files weekly.

10.Compile expected cash flow reports with projection of funds.

11.Read and interpret Federal and State financial aid regulations.

12. Maintains and locks traditional financial aid awards in CAMS

13. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Technical School Certificate in Business/Accounting or High School Diploma (GED/HiSET) or related on-the-job experience.

 

Computer skills, basic math, knowledge of spreadsheets, bookkeeping software and customer service experience.  Preferred knowledge of government rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures related to financial aid.

Physical Requirements:

Work requires little or no physical effort. Lifting or performing other work requiring light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) is intermittent (not a routine part of the job) and secondary to the job.

Environmental Conditions:

Work is performed under basically normal working conditions as in a standard office environment.
