Clinical Site Student Travel

Physician Assistant Program Policies & Procedures

Updated: February 10, 2026 (ARC-PA 6th Ed. Std.: A3.01, A3.14j)

Policy:

Clinical Site management and scheduling are the responsibility of the Clinical Department in the PA Program. Students enrolled in the clinical phase of the PA Program must have appropriate means to travel to clinical sites from their place of residence and are responsible for all expenses associated with travel to required rotation sites. Students will be placed in a geographic location termed a “clinical hub”. The goal is to schedule student clinical sites within 50 miles from a clinical hub. In the event a student is relocated to another hub, the student is responsible for all travel costs associated with relocations.

During the clinical year, the students will be required to attend virtual and in-person return-to-campus events. Students are required to be physically present at the Bethel University PA Program campus for in-person return-to-campus events (three separate two-day events) and Summative (two-four week event). The schedule for these events will be released during clinical orientation to give the students proper time to plan for travel and expenses. The student is responsible for all expenses for travel and lodging associated with these events. Neither the University nor the Program are responsible for providing transportation or expenses related to these events.
